Thanksgiving Escape Room Activities and Centers | Thanksgiving Harvest Party
Celebrate Thanksgiving, as you review math and literacy skills, with The Case of the Pumpkin Pie Bandit Thanksgiving Escape Room! Your students will be highly engaged as they complete 6 or 8 different challenges to eliminate the suspects and discover which disguised turkey has stolen the pumpkin pies!
These Thanksgiving Escape Room activities can be used as a Thanksgiving Harvest Party or Thanksgiving math and literacy centers.
Take the stress out of planning a Thanksgiving celebration that is magical and educational with these Thanksgiving Escape Room activities! This will be a Thanksgiving your students never forget!
Set the stage with a note from the pie shop owner:
A tricky turkey,
Dressed in disguise,
Snatched up all,
The pumpkin pies!
Please can you help,
Solve this mystery,
And find the bandit,
Who took them from me?
Complete each challenge,
To receive a clue.
Eliminate the suspects,
And figure out who!
After the students complete each challenge, they will receive a clue from the culprit. A suspect will be eliminated after each challenge. Once all the Thanksgiving centers have been completed, they will have eliminated all but one suspect!
There are 4 math and 4 literacy Thanksgiving activities included. Black and white option included. Targeted skills:
- recognizing rhyming words
- segmenting CVC words
- identifying syllables
- matching uppercase and lowercase letters
- decomposing five
- measuring height
- ordering numbers 1-10 or 11-20
- 1:1 counting and number identification
The Challenges:
- Cornucopia Challenge - Build each CVC word by identifying the beginning sound, ending sound or all three sounds (three levels included)
- Pie Challenge - Match the pie to its rhyming oven.
- Feather Challenge - Count the syllables and match the feathers to the correct turkey.
- Wishbone Challenge - Match the uppercase and lowercase letters to build each wishbone.
- Mayflower Challenge - Help the Mayflower set sail by ordering the numbers from 1 - 10 or 11 - 20.
- Turkey Challenge - Use the pumpkin pie ruler to measure each turkey. Count and color how many.
- Pilgrim Hat Challenge - Count the feathers. Match the pilgrim hat to the correct turkey.
- Corn Challenge - Add more to make 5. Write the number sentence.
