What are Morning Tubs / Bins?
Morning Bins provide a hands-on option to morning work and can turn those busy, hectic mornings into meaningful and independent practice! Morning Bins are the perfect way to wake up those little minds. They can also be used for extra practice or early finishers!
No grading, no pressure, just fun and engaging practice!

Each monthly theme will include 21 skills. The monthly skills stay the same throughout the months, but the activities change to provide students with more challenging activities. For the January Morning Bins there are:

⭐Skills included in the Morning Bins:⭐
- Vocabulary- Build a vocabulary word with magnetic letters then match the picture to the word
- Sounds- Say word, decide if the y makes a long i or long e sound and color by code
- Segment and Blend- Say the -nk or -ng word then build and write the word
- Sight Words- Spin spinner and graph the sight word
- Sequence- Read sentences and put in order so the story makes sense
- Sentences- Spin verb and tense spinner then write a sentence using the word in that tense
- Grammar- Look at picture, read the sentence and decide which word completes it
- Writing- Pick card, decide with they prefer and write about it, telling why they prefer it
- Rhymes, Syllables and Compound Words- Put syllables in order to build the word
- Text- Pick character card and compare and contrast the characters
- Count Sequence- Take turns rolling a die and racing to reach 120
- Comparing Numbers and Making Groups- Pick card and use counters to show groups
- Representing Numbers- Sort petals into the correct number mat
- Base 10- Flip a card, show the problem and write the sum
- Fluency- Spin spinner, double the number and cover the answer
- Addition and Subtraction- Flip card, double the number and add two more
- Measurement and Data- Spin spinner, graph answer and add tally mark
- Geometry- Name shape and attribute pieces to complete puzzle
- Time and Money- Flip card, read value and show two ways to make value
- Patterns and Fractions- Spin spinner and cover a matching fraction
- Social/Emotional: Regulating Myself and Relating to Others- Students draw themselves then write what they like about themselves on petals
