Kindergarten Readiness Summer Packet | Kindergarten Round Up | Preschool Review | Miss M's Reading Resources
Get your kids ready for kindergarten with this back-to-school or end of the year Kindergarten Readiness Handbook. Practice all sorts of skills including colors, letters, counting, handwriting, and more! Students can work on one sheet a day and get through everything to prepare for their first year in the classroom.
This download can also be used as morning work for the end of preschool/pre-kindergarten and the beginning of kindergarten, as intervention, as homework, or as a summer school curriculum for the summer before kindergarten.
The Kindergarten Readiness Handbook is a 104-page resource for soon-to-be kindergarten students and their parents; it was designed to help prepare kindergarten students with essential literacy, math, and kindergarten readiness skills. This resource is intended to be given to pre-kindergarten students the spring or summer before kindergarten, but can also be used for a pre-k summer program or in a pre-k classroom.
The handbook is easy-to-read with parent tips throughout and includes multiple letter and number flash card sets. It focuses on many skills, but the most important is that your student be excited about school and be ready to learn new concepts in the classroom. The skills included in this handbook are:
- color recognition
- concepts of print
- handwriting (uppercase and lowercase)
- letter identification
- letter sounds
- name recognition and writing
- number sense 1-10
- pencil grip (with visual for a tripod grip)
- reading/read alouds
- sight words
- syllable counting
- scissor grip (with visual)
- shape recognition
Happy learning! :)
