This packet includes the following resources:
*Long a Vowel Teams- Use the vowel teams -ai and -ay to box up words and complete sentences.
*Long e Vowel Teams- Use the vowel teams -ea, ee and -ey to box up words and complete sentences.
*Long i Sounds- Use the letter combinations -ie, -ight and y to box up words and complete sentences.
*Long o Sounds- Use the letter combinations -ow, -oe and -oa to box up words and complete sentences.
*Long u Vowel Teams- Use the vowel teams -ew, -ue, and ui to box up words and complete sentences.
*Irregular Nouns- Make irregular nouns plural by following the rules.
*January Acrostic Poem
*Grammar Police (Fix it Up)- Read and rewrite each sentence correctly.
*Addressing an Envelope- Fix the mistakes on the envelope, address it correctly and address an envelope to someone.
*Thank you Letter (Fix it Up) - Fix the letter by rewriting it correctly.
*Selecting the Right Resource- Read the questions and decide if you should use a dictionary, thesaurus or encyclopedia.
*Reflexive Pronouns- Use the word bank and picture clues to help write complete sentences with a reflexive pronoun.
*Cause and Effect- Look at the picture and write a possible cause and effect for each.
*Finding Text Features- Use textbooks to find and illustrate the following text features: table of contents, heading, caption, index, diagram and map.
*Grammar Word Search- Find the nouns, verbs and adjectives in the word search. Use the color code to highlight (or color) each word.
*Making Inferences-Use the sentence and picture clues to help you make an inference. Write what you can infer.
*Story Elements- Read a story and write the characters, setting and plot.
*Common and Proper Noun ABC Order- cut out the words, arrange them in ABC order, fix the proper nouns and write them on the lines. Decide which words are proper and which are common.
*Main Idea and Details- Read a nonfiction text about penguins. Read the main idea. Draw pictures and write details to support the main idea.
*Main Idea Graphic Organizer (BLANK)- to be used for any topic.
*Adding Four Addends (2 digit numbers)-Solve the addition problems. Color according to the code.
*Making Arrays and Repeated Addition- Draw snowflake arrays for each set. Write an addition problem.
*Measurement- Estimate and Measure in Inches- Estimate and measure the length of 12 different items.
*Mental Math- Using Doubles to help Add
*2-D Shapes- Cut and paste the name of each shape. Draw a picture using that shape.
*3-D Shapes- Cut and paste the name of each shape. Draw a picture using that shape.
*Roll and Color a Shape- Roll the die and color a shape that matches your roll.
*Making Shapes- Use the geo-board to draw each shape. Tell how many sides each shape has.
*Roll and Solve Addition with Regrouping- Roll a die and solve an addition problem (with regrouping).
*Roll and Solve Subtraction with Regrouping- Roll a die and solve a subtraction problem. (with regrouping)
*Roll and Solve Addition or Subtraction (mixed review) problems. (with regrouping).
*Money: Winter Shopping - Use the specified amount of money to buy 3 different items in 8 different ways.
*Addition Word Problems- Read the problem and answer the questions.
*Money: How much Cents? Read the amount of coins and add them up. Cut and paste the tag that matches each group of coins.
*Measurement: Inches- Estimate how long each line is and then measure.
*Centimeters: Inches- Estimate how long each line is and then measure.
*Measurement: Inches - Use your ruler to measure different items on a penguin to the nearest inch. Includes height and width.
*Fractions- Read the problems and answer the questions by writing them in fraction form.
*Time in Increments- Fill in the times according to the chart using 15, 20 and 30 increments.
*Addition Word Problems with Regrouping- Use the given information to answer the questions.
*Elapsed Time (5 Minute Increments)- Read the time and how much time has elapsed. Show the new time by drawing hands on the clocks.
*Expanded Form- Write the expanded form for each number.
*Written Form- Write the written form for each number.
*Add and Subtract within a 1,000 using word problems.
