Different Ways to Use Bulletin Board Paper
Get ready to think beyond the board! Our new Fadeless Bulletin Board Paper for 2025 is here—and trust us, it’s not just for decorating anymore! With gorgeous designs and durable material, these papers bring way more to the table than just beautiful boards, doors, and decor. Whether you're looking to boost student engagement, mix up your routines, or create hands-on learning moments, our bulletin board paper is about to be your new classroom BFF. Let’s get into all the creative ways you can use it to make learning more interactive, meaningful, and (of course) adorable!
Different Ways to Use Bulletin Board Paper
Centers
Create quick, flexible displays or activities that move with your lessons—that's right, you can write all over these papers! With a classic lined notebook paper, traditional lined writing paper, and even a lined grid paper—writing on these large scale papers has never been so easy! Cut pieces or sections of the bulletin board paper off in whatever size you need to hang in each learning center. Use them to jot down sight/high frequency/heart words, vocabulary words, anchor charts, or topic reminders that grow with your unit! Let your students help you fill them in during lessons for a more collaborative approach. You can even give students their own small section of paper at each center to write, draw, or brainstorm on as part of their rotation. It’s a visual and interactive way to reinforce learning—and makes each space feel more personalized and purposeful!
On the Floor Learning
Yes, on the floor—and yes, they’ll love it! Lay out large pieces of bulletin board paper on the floor for small group or whole-class lessons and let students write or draw directly on them. This simple switch from desk to floor feels like a big deal to students and keeps them engaged while giving them more room to think big. Plus, writing on the floor helps strengthen motor skills, build dexterity, and practice body awareness—all while having fun! It also makes it easier for multiple students to collaborate together and is great for group projects!
Hang It Up for Modeling
Make learning visible while you teach! Use our lined paper designs to model handwriting, sentence structure, math problems—you name it! Hang a piece front and center and use it during instruction as your go-to modeling space. Then leave it up as a reference while students work independently. It’s like a giant notebook page on display—supportive, simple, and super effective.
The best part? Unlike a whiteboard, there's no need to erase—it can stay up as a reusable reference all year long! You could even build a growing reference wall or designate a space to hang these modeled examples as you move through different units.
Name Writing & Handwriting Practice
Lined paper is always a win for early learners—and we’ve got three fun options to choose from:classic lined notebook paper, traditional lined writing paper, and even a lined grid paper! These designs are perfect for practicing name writing, letter formation, and building sentence skills. Just cut the paper into smaller strips and give each student their own to use. Whether they’re tracing, copying, or free writing, it’s a simple, engaging tool that supports repetition, builds confidence, and makes handwriting practice feel fun and low-pressure. You could even keep a stash in your writing center as an easy, go-to option for independent writing activities!
Create a Chair Rail
In our Pretty in Pastel Classroom Makeover, we used our Sophomore Year Mint Composition Bulletin Board Paperalong the bottom half of the wall and paired it with layered borders above to create the look of a chair rail! This simple trick completely elevates the feel of the classroom and beautifully ties your bulletin boards and theme together—it’s an easy upgrade with a big impact!
Portable & Extendable Learning
Sometimes a change of scenery makes all the difference! Let’s be real—kids love novelty, and sometimes all they need is a little switch-up to re-engage. Even as teachers, we know a switch up or fun activity in the lesson plan sometimes makes the week! Our bulletin board paper is a great way to give everyone that! Use it for larger-scale writing projects that require group collaboration, or bring it outside and let students pick their own spot to work. Hallways, corners, under desks, wherever! These papers travel well and make learning feel fresh and exciting—without needing anything extra.
Bulletin Board Paper For Large-Scale Projects
Go BIG with your bulletin board paper by using it for large-scale classroom projects! We especially love the idea of using our Late for Class locker design paper for some of these ideas, but truly—any style can work depending on your vision!
One idea? A Student of the Week Locker! Simply cut out an individual locker, hang it somewhere special in your classroom, and have classmates add kind notes or drawings throughout the week. At the end of the week, roll it up and send it home as a sweet, feel-good keepsake!
Another idea could be to create a “Take What You Need” locker wall, where students add encouraging notes for others to grab when they need a boost!
Or try a Graffiti Kindness display where kids fill the lockers with uplifting messages whenever inspiration strikes. The possibilities are endless and we love how many ways you can use this paper to build classroom community in creative and interactive ways!
You could also use the paper to make a special birthday display for a student! Write their name and birthday on the paper and let classmates decorate it with drawings, messages, or stickers throughout the day. At the end, send it home as a sweet birthday keepsake they’ll love!
Create Class Rules or a Class Promise
Set the tone for the year—together! Use one of our paper styles to create a large-scale, collaborative class rules poster. Let each student contribute one idea for a rule, goal, or value they want to see in the classroom. Write them out together, then hang it as your “Classroom Promise” to revisit all year long! It’s a great way to build community and give students ownership over the space.
