Celebrate the end of the year countdown with a Camping Day! These camping activities review math and literacy skills, all with a mysterious twist! With the camping theme centers from The Case of the Camping Caper End of the Year Escape Room, your students will be highly engaged as they complete 6 or 8 different challenges to eliminate the suspects and discover who has stolen the s'mores!

These Camping Day Escape Room activities can be used for a Camping Day, an End of Year Party or end of the year themed math and literacy centers.

Make the end of the year a memorable (and learning-filled) celebration with these camping day end of the year escape room activities!

Set the stage with a note from a camper:

I turned on my flashlight,

Only to see,

A sneaky caper,

Scurry past me!

The critter took,

S’mores from my sack.

Can you help me?

Please get them back!

Eliminate suspects,

One by one.

Complete the challenges,

And have some fun!

After the students complete each challenge, they will receive a clue from the culprit. A suspect will be eliminated after each challenge. Once all of the camping theme centers have been completed, they will have eliminated all but one suspect!

There are 4 math and 4 literacy camping day activities included. Black and white option included. Targeted skills:

recognizing sight words
segmenting CVC words
identifying beginning blends (cl & cr)
composing sentences and recognizing high frequency words
analyzing and graphing data
adding fluently
subtracting from 5
using base ten blocks to show numbers as 10 and some more

The Challenges:

Sleeping Bag Challenge - Use letter tiles to build each sight word.
Bug Challenge - Match the picture to the correct number sentence.
Campfire Challenge - Listen for the beginning blend (cl & cr), sort the pictures under the correct campfire and match the word to the picture.
Star Challenge - Count and graph how many of each type of star. Use the graph to answer the questions.
Tent Challenge - Arrange the words into the correct order to make the sentence.
Thermos Challenge - Begin with 10, and count the blocks. Match the cup to the correct thermos.
Backpack Challenge - Stretch out each CVC word.
S'mores Challenge - Solve each subtraction problem.
