Each letter of the alphabet contains two pages. The first page helps to develop handwriting formation, offers an area for students to draw and identify words that begin with the page’s focus letter, and contains words to trace, decode, and draw. The second page contains two sentences that students read, trace, and illustrate.
The sentences are packed with high frequency words and color words. The difficult words contain picture cues (rebus style) perfect for beginning or struggling readers!
Use only the first pages at the beginning of the year, or copy both pages double sided.
It also contains two pages to practice lines and circles, as well as two review pages for both capital and lowercase letters.
There is also a version for the sentence pages without the tracing lines. Choose and print the version that works best for your students!*
This pack is great for morning work at the beginning of the year, writing practice, independent work, back to school handwriting review, or used in a whole group setting. There are two options for cover pages if you wish to create a handwriting booklet for each child. One page contains pictures and letters for students to trace and color. The second option contains an open space if you wish to have your students decorate their own handwriting packets. It is perfect for first graders, advanced kindergartners, or struggling second graders and intervention students.
I hope you enjoy this fun twist on a handwriting packet that encourages decoding practice as well!
Happy Learning,
Miss DeCarbo
